Who is Dr. Nandi?
An M.D., patient advocate, Health Hero practitioner and leader

Born in Calcutta, India, Partha Nandi survived rheumatic heart disease and made an everlasting commitment to patient care. Through this trial grew the intrigue and drive necessary to become one of the leading patient advocates in the United States.

Dr. Partha Nandi, M.D. FACP

Dr. Nandi became the holistic health practitioner he is today by never forgetting his roots. Lying frightened and bedridden as a child of only six years old, Partha observed his friends and family pour out love and emotional support throughout his struggle. The essence of Dr. Nandi was born through this affliction and is now expressed through his compassion for the sick, insistence on healthy living, and passion for strong family ties.

Dr. Nandi’s Younger Years: a brief history.

Precocious from the start, Dr. Nandi’s earliest years were fueled by curiosity and fortitude; he led the active lifestyle of a happy little boy. Yet at the tender age of six, Partha suddenly developed devastating joint pains that left him lethargic and withdrawn. His concerned parents quickly set out to determine what was seriously wrong with their once flourishing young son.

Introducing the ultimate patient advocate.

From traditional to alternative doctors, no one had answers. Partha’s mother embraced the role of health advocate, and insisted he visit a specialist. It was then that Dr. Nandi would encounter his first Health Hero in Dr. Chandrasekhar (a specialist in Bangalore, India). Charismatic and warm, Dr. Chandrasekhar instantly put Partha at ease.

However, the diagnosis was extremely concerning. Dr. Nandi had rheumatic fever, a potentially life threatening disease of the joints and heart. He spent the next 10 days in the hospital where another Health Hero emerged, his father. Partha’s dad remained at his bedside with uplifting support for the duration of his hospital stay. Though released from the hospital, Dr. Nandi wrestled with the disease and remained on bed rest for a year before making a full recovery.

Becoming a holistic health practitioner as an M.D.

This would be Dr. Nandi’s first introduction to health care. It was his father’s loving strength combine with the knowledge from Dr. Chandrasekhar that inspired Partha to become a health practitioner. Dr. Nandi’s lifelong mission is to become a Health Hero like the examples his family and doctors were to him. To educate and empower individuals and their families to Be Their Own Health Heroes.

What doctor is just as comfortable speaking in front of diverse audiences about a myriad of health issues as he is talking about hip-hop and the Detroit Lions’ playoff chances? A doctor who can make healthful nutrition fun on his “Health Hero” tour as he and his wife Kali discuss the health benefits of the food and spices in the numerous dishes they prepare in front of a live audience.

Healthcare partners and peer practitioners

After immigrating to the United States at the age of 9, Dr. Nandi and his family moved to Columbus, OH. He pursued his dream of becoming a Health Hero and graduated at the top of his class with a medical degree from Wayne State University.
