New Year’s resolutions are fun and exciting to make. Problem is, many people don’t keep them. Or they struggle and give up prior to reaching their goal. What bothers me about them, is they only happen once a year. So that’s why I’m doing a show on New Year’s Resolutions all year long! Why set a goal only once a year? When you can start right now? Making positive change and switching to a healthy lifestyle should be something you’re committed to all year long. On today’s show, my guests will demonstrate simple easy exercises, we’ll discuss decluttering, time management and how to get your finances in order. We’ll also be cooking healthy yet tasty dishes in the kitchen and follow all of this up with a calming soul searching meditation.
Identify your readiness to change. Sometimes the pressure to make a New Year’s resolution makes you commit before you’re really ready to. You may not have thought through what it takes to reach that goal and you’ll easily get frustrated.
Believe you can do it! If that little voice keeps telling you you’ll never do it… it will eventually drag you down and you’ll never succeed. Instead write down the reasons that will help you succeed and take a peek at those periodically to keep you on track.
Almost all changes include setbacks… don’t beat yourself up. Just get back in the saddle. If it’s eating better… you have an opportunity to make better choices at the next meal. If it’s exercising… there’s always tomorrow morning or if it’s saving money, even a small amount can add up.
And, lastly… partner up. Find a buddy that can help you on your journey. Someone to motivate you and celebrate your successes.
