IBS

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a chronic disorder of the digestive system, often diagnosed by the presence of recurrent abdominal pain, discomfort, bloating, and changes in the pattern of bowel movements. IBS is a common disorder, affecting about 10–15% of the population worldwide. Women are up to three times more likely than men to be diagnosed with I BS. People with IBS can experience a range of symptoms, including abdominal pain and discomfort, bloating, gas, constipation, and/or diarrhoea. These symptoms often fluctuate in severity and can be acute or chronic. IBS cannot be cured, but symptoms can often be managed to allow people with the condition to live normal lives.
