When many people hear the wordΒ breakfast,Β the first thing that comes to their minds is a bowl of cereal. Special K, Raisin Bran, and Cheerios are perennial American classics.
But is cereal the best way to start your day? A prominent food blogger says no, and that the drunk college kids were right all along.
Sometimes when you’re fresh out of bed, a slice of cold pizza is the best option.
I wouldn’t necessarily say pizza isΒ nutritious. But it does contain protein, which is good to eat first thing in the morning because it helps you stay full.
If you’re lucky, it also has lots of carbs and maybe even some veggies. On the other hand, most commercial breakfast cereals are packed full of sugar, which causes you to crash at some point in the day. So, it generally depends on what kind of pizza and cereal we’re talking about.
While a slice of breakfast pie might satisfy when you’re on the go and need some quick calories, it’s probably not the best thing to eat every day. Here are some other ideas:
Partha’s Rx
- First of all, make sure you eat something for breakfast in the morning. Doing so has been proven to improve mood and memory and lower stress.
- Eat something full of as much Calcium, Iron, B vitamins, fiber, and protein as possible.
- Try making at least one piece of fruit or one vegetable part of your breakfast routine.
- Eat within two hours of waking up to fuel your brain for the day.
- Finding a cereal that’s low on the glycemic index and full of fiber is an excellent place to start because that helps to control blood sugar levels and lower cholesterol. If you put berries or some other fruit on top, that’s even better.
